FENERTY, Charles (1821-1892)
Born January 1821 at Springfield Lake, Sackville, Nova Scotia, the son of James Fenerty, lumberman and farmer, and his wife Elizabeth, nee Lawson. Poet and inventor. He married on 28 December 1867 at the Episcopalian Church, Kentville to Ann Maria Hamilton, daughter of John Hamilton, farmer, and his wife Ann. Died 10 June 1892 at Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. Buried at St. John's Anglican Church, Old Sackville Road, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.
HOLLAND, Anthony Henry (1785-1830)
Born on 25 November 1785 at Halifax, Nova Scotia, the eldest son of Matthias Holland and his wife Margaret, nee Appledore. He married on 22 December 1816, at Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Eliza Merkel. Commenced the "Acadian Recorder" newspaper at Halifax in 1813. Died on 10 October 1830 near Halifax, Nova Scotia.
HUGHES, Daniel (c1825-1891)
Born c1825 and baptised on 16 March 1825 at St. George's Church of England, Bolton, Lancashire, England, the son of Joseph Hughes, paper manufacturer, and his wife Mary, nee Grime. Worked at the White Hall Paper Mill at Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire, England. He married on 2 January 1856 at the Ballycarry Presbyterian Church, Templecorran, County Antrim, Ireland to Millie Gordon, daughter of Samuel James Gordon, attorney, and his wife Maria, nee Holmes. Following the sale of the White Hall Paper Mill he and his family migrated to Quebec, Canada in October 1870 per the Montreal Ocean Steam-Ship Company's ship, the "Scandinavian." At the Penobsquis Paper Mill, from late 1870. Within a few years he moved to Nova Scotia and took over the running of the Acadia Paper Mill at Bedford, near Halifax, Nova Scotia. After this mill burned down he moved into Halifax where he worked as a clerk; bookkeeper and later as the law librarian at Dalhousie College. Died on 4 September 1891 at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Buried on 5 September 1891 at (All Saints' Cemetery, cnr. Perth & Waldour Street?) Bedford, Halifax County, Nova Scotia, Canada.
KISSOCK, Alexander (c1814-1868)
Born c1814 in Scotland. He married prior to 1850 to Frances. Paper Dealer at 48 Upper Water Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia in the 1860's. Was running the Acadian Paper Mill at Bedford, Nova Scotia at the time of his death. Died on 7 November 1868 at Bedford, Nova Scotia.
