Little is known about this mill which was founded by Robert Hughes about 1857. He was in partnership with a waste dealer named John Riley.

In 1860 the mill was reportedly producing "browns, glazed browns, small hands and marble papers."
The mill closed in 1860 following the bankruptcy of the two partners.
